Organization of the Foundation

The Foundation will be organized and headquarters in La Jolla, California in close proximity to the California Institute for Smart Communities TM at San Diego State University. Liaison offices will soon be established in Europe an Asia and a number of other foundation offices created to permit and encourage tax exempted contributions worldwide.

John M. Eger, counsel to Morrison & Foester, and Executive Director of SDSU's International Center of Communications, will serve as the founding President and CEO. Mary Ann Eger will serve as founding Vice President of Public Affairs and a director.

Initially, there will also be thirty-six trustees from Asia, Europe and the Americas. The initial slate will be chosen from those organizations and institutions supporting the Foundation, or individuals with strong interest and expertise who have distinguished themselves in the international telecommunications field. Together with the existing five directors, this will compose the initial board of trustees. Eventually the Foundation seeks to expand the board to ensure balanced representation worldwide. Importantly, a distinguished international faculty advisory broad is also being established to develop a research agenda and to serve as advisors and lectures in developing and implementing core curricula to serve a worldwide constituency.
